Wedding Update 3 - Rhonda & Duncan Stewart

Rhonda & Duncan Stewart

Wedding Update Part three

We walked down to the beach, and then into the warm sea. The sun was shining,

and the beach was just about deserted. So this was it, the moment that I’d been
waiting for all my life, I’d finally met and fallen in love with someone who loves & respects me back in equal measure, someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. The time was half past four in the afternoon, and whilst we were in the sea, I held both of her hands and said “Rhonda Allison Arthur Smith, will you marry me?” There was a brief pause before Rhonda replied “are you being serious?” After a very serious look followed by a nervous smile by me, a massive grin appeared on
Rhonda’s face, and she said “YES!!!”
How happy (and relieved) I felt then, I can’t begin to describe.
But I can tell you that I still just as happy, and have no regrets. I truly believe that I’ve made the right decision, especially as I believe God confirmed this in the days leading up to that Wednesday, and he will bless our marriage.
Just as I explained to Rhonda on that special day; I felt it appropriate to ask Rhonda to be my Wife at Englishman’s Bay, as from there, the sea links her Country, Trinidad & Tobago, with my Country, and of course yes, I’m English!
But more than that –as God has made the sea, he has allowed us to meet, he is the one who has brought us together. I think that in any relationship, you constantly learn something new about the “other half”. Just one of the many things I’ve discovered is that Rhonda has a real desire to get the Gospel message out to everyone she meets, and does this with a lot of love & compassion. She’s like a powerhouse, and keeps on going, and she views a problem as a challenge! Another part of Rhonda’s personality is that she loves me for who I am. She’s a real inspiration to me, and encourages me in all I do. I really couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful person to have come into my life. My God is a generous God, and has brought our lives together –not by chance, luck or co-incidence, but by God’s grace. He is in control of our lives, and as we continue to prepare for our future, we find it comforting to know the assurance that God knows our future, and won’t let us down!
Well, that’s just about it for now. Rhonda is currently working hard in Trinidad, at a popular Christian Radio Station, as part of the Youth in Focus Team.
You can hear her on the radio via the internet. It’s Isaac 98.1FM. We’d appreciate your thoughts and prayers, as we need to get Visas sorted so that Rhonda can live and work in England.
We know that the road that lies ahead will probably be bumpy at times, but with such caring and supportive Family, Relatives and Friends, and with God at the centre of our relationship, we know that there will be many happy times to come.
The Wedding
All that’s left to say for now is we are planning for the Wedding to happen sometime in October, 2008, and the location will be either in Trinidad or England (to be agreed!). We are hoping to finalise the Wedding date and location sometime in the early part of 2008, and will of course, let you know as soon as we do! Proper invitations will then follow.
Both Rhonda & I would love you to be there to share in our special day, and if you need to contact either of us, please feel free!

With love,
Rhonda & Duncan
