Our Engagement Story

We were in Tobago, West Indies. We were beach

hopping. It seemed like a wonderful beach to visit

called Englishman’s Bay. We went into the waters

and it was quite nice as most of the beaches in

Tobago were. Then he looks at me and called my

entire name “Rhonda Allison Arthur Smith, will

you ...marry me?” I said “are you kidding me!

Is this like a test or something!” He then said

 “I am serious.” I was laughing all the while because

 I was not sure why this place, Englishman’s Bay.

Then he said because of the fact that God connects

 us across the seas and He has made the seas that

joins our two countries together. I was blown

away by the depth of this reason. I knew that I

 loved him and saying yes was the right decision

for me. Okay, was he on his knees, maybe or

maybe not, we were in the sea hand in hand and

I know from his eyes that he meant business.
